AniCal — Privacy Policy

AniCal does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
What the app does
AniCal is a seasonal anime calendar with an optional movie & TV show search. It runs entirely on your device and only talks to two public data services to show you content.
Data the app sends to third parties
AniList (anilist.co) — to load anime schedules, titles, cover art and ratings, the app sends standard, anonymous requests to AniList's public API. No personal information or identifiers are included. AniList's own privacy policy governs what it receives (such as your IP address, as with any internet request).
TMDB (themoviedb.org) — only if you choose to use the Search tab, the app sends your search terms to TMDB's API to return movie and TV results. This requires an API key that you create in your own TMDB account. TMDB's privacy policy governs that service. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Data stored on your device
- Your TMDB API key — if you enter one, it is saved only in the app's private local storage on your device so you don't have to re-enter it. It is never sent anywhere except directly to TMDB with your searches, and it is never transmitted to the developer. Delete the app to remove it.
- Nothing else is persisted. Genre filters and browsing state are held in memory while the app is open.
What we don't do
- No user accounts, sign-in, or profiles.
- No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking SDKs.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No access to contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera.
- No data is sold or shared with any party, ever.
Children
AniCal is not directed at children under 13 and, as described above, collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
